A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN:

I am Ed Downing, current chairman of the Norwalk Veterans Memorial Committee. I represent the local Mahackemo Detachment of the Marine Corps League. I will serve until the 30th of June 2008 as the Chairman of this committee, at which time the first elected chairman will take office for a year. I am proud of the achievements of our committee during my tenure. We rewrote our Constitution and By-Laws to expand our membership opportunities, conducted a wonderful ceremony on Veterans Day, and awarded generous scholarships to deserving JROTC cadets. As I write this message, plans are well underway for our annual ceremony at the Shea-McGrath Memorial and our Memorial Day parade. It has been an honor to chair our committee, whose members have constantly strived to “Honor Our Vets - Support Our Troops”
